One thing Moroccans really enjoy is hanging out at McDonald’s (or McDo, as francophones call it). Although this is mostly a pastime of teenage Moroccans, on a Saturday night Moroccans of all ages stop by for their menu and enjoy it at the outdoor tables.
Young Moroccan men get all dressed up on Saturday night, spray on as much cologne as possible, then pick up their date (dressed to the nines, of course, complete with stiletto heels) and head to McDonald’s, where the young man buys his girl a sundae and they sit outside for hours admiring the other kids in their Saturday night best.
This Marrakech McDonald’s is a popular hangout.
It’s probably fair to mention that McDonald’s in Morocco is cleaner, has better tasting food, and widescreen televisions. But that still doesn’t really explain it.

Part of the reason it’s a cool place is because only well-to-do Moroccans can afford it! That makes it exclusive.
